Valentine’s Day is a wonderful day in which you express how much you love your significant other.
While expressing your love to your significant other should not require a special day, Valentine’s Day gives us an opportunity to splurge a little more and show them how much we care. But there are many of us out there who live on a strict budget with little wiggle room. Fret not! Here are a few Valentine’s Day ideas for those of us who ball on a budget.
- Star Gazing
It takes someone special to truly be mesmerized by the innate beauty of the cosmos. If your SO can appreciate beauty without a screen, star gazing may be for you. (Pro tip: Due to light pollution, the further you drive from the city the more stars you will see.)
- Ice Skating
Holding hands, comfortable sweaters, and the possibility of some slap-stick humor–should you fall on your behind. Many ice skating rinks open for this day and offer rentals if you do not own a pair of ice skates.
- Dinner & a Movie
If you are short on money, then you may think that a dinner and a movie is out of your price range. But it isn’t. Look up a delicious dinner, and buy the ingredients for a fraction of the price at the grocery store.
You can then acquire your movie through Netflix, Hulu, or some other avenue.
