A Wow-Worthy Take On The Classic Dip
Spring is officially upon us, as is symbolized by all of the fresh flowers that are springing up around us. The warmer weather brings the perfect opportunity to invite friends and family over for a barbecue, but you do not want to have to worry about the cooking you will do to make that barbecue a success. Fortunately, there are a few spring recipes that can help. So you can enjoy a day in the sun stress-free, here is a quick and easy recipe for homemade mango guacamole. This bright and fresh-tasting dip is sure to wow your guests. To make it, you will need:
- 3 Hass avocados
- 1 mango
- 1/3 cup of red onion, chopped
- 1 serrano chile pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1/3 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Tortilla chips (to serve)
To begin, cut each avocado in half. Throw away the pit and peel the skin away from the avocado. Put the avocado in a large mixing bowl.
With a veggie peeler, take the skin off of the mango. With a sharp knife, slice the fruit away from the pit. Chop the mango into ½ inch pieces.
Add the mango, along with the red onion, serrano chile, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the avocado. Using a fork, mash the mixture together until it is the consistency at which you prefer your guacamole. Using a clean spoon or tortilla chip, taste the mixture. Add more salt and pepper, if needed.
Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with cilantro, and serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy!
