Scandinavian Festival 2017 at Cal Lutheran

What do you know about Scandinavian culture? Whether or not you know anything, the 42nd Scandinavian Festival will celebrate the cultures of those northeastern European countries.

When: April 1-2, 2017

The 42nd Scandinavian Festival will celebrate the cultures of those countries that have an excellent and unparalleled education system and healthcare policy: Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Sami people from the Arctic regions of Scandinavia.

The festival will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will include:

  • Dancing to American and Scandinavian music.
  • Authentic food like ableskivers and lefse and krumkake and more!
  • Lectures for estranged Americans with Scandinavian ancestry to become more attuned to the way of their ancestors from acclaimed storytellers Stina Fagertun and Robert Seutter.
  • Demonstrations like Genetic Genealogy that represents Family Tree DNA which allows you to purchase a DNA test kit and trace your ancestry.
  • Vendors
  • Activities for people of all ages.
